What has happened this month of July?
I cannot tell you how exhausted and tired I am with this month of July, and honestly, a lot has happened and I will do the best of my ability to talk about it all... here in one blog post.
It's been awhile since I've last blogged, and I know, I shouldn't be lagging, but here I am showing one of my many life long projects some love! July has been an absolute chaotic month.. have I not mentioned that yet? Started off with housing B-Boys at my San Jose & San Francisco cribs back and forth, picking up international homies from the airport and bringing them around. BBoy Wing Zero, Issei, Jerry, and Milhouse has played a huge role in the month of July. Wing Zero housed me back in April when I was in Tokyo for almost a month, so of course I want to give him the best San Francisco experience I could ever offer! Kicked off 7/1 with Cypher Cup X, Me, Matt Action, and Hideki entered as Waseda Warfare and lost short in the finals against Language of One, however it was an awesome exchange! BIG shoutout to Tek and his team for putting up such an AMAZING event. Cypher Cup has been such an amazing series here in the Bay Area community, and also it's bbeen awhile since the last time MOST of Gorilla Warfare members has been in the same building together! Dopefx, JamRock, Thanhgo, Rawzura, and myself.. missing T80!
we're excited for the next one!
Next weekend we went to Sweet 16 Championship in Sac, hot and tiring long road trip but it was fun just participating in an event without competing! Met a lot of international heads out there from all over the world, cyphering and having fun! Following another week of business except we dropped off Wing Zero, Issei, and Jerry at the airport with Milhouse still kicking it at my crib. Chill chill chill until the next weekend which is Style Elements anniversary which Matt Action, JamRock, and Myself entered as Waseda Warfare again, we made it to top 16 and went up against Monster Energy BBoys (Jeremy, Gravity, and Zeku) and also.... lost short just by one point, however I thought we definitely killed it though!
So as you guys can see, it's been about 3 years since this squad was last formed back in 2014, but we definitely had hella fun battling together once again!! After Style Elements anniversary, the brother, roommate Milhouse had to head back to Korea. Just two short following days later, I met up with one of my best friends Jay who's returning from Japan with two of his other friends Noboru and NO ID MAN... (because their passport and ID got stolen in SF...) We had a long voyage together from Las Vegas, then Jay drove us to the Antelope canyon, and other spots around there for some shots, before heading to Phoenix international airport for New York City. New York, this trip was a bit tough for me simply I got really sick few days prior, and first night in NYC I was pretty much just dead inside. Shoutout to the STEADY boys for dragging my butt out for a few drinks. Next day, Noboru and NO ID MAN went back to Japan. They managed to picked up temporary passport from the Japanese Embassy of NYC, and got back safe & sound! The next few days, me and Jay went on adventure mode and trying to survive the lack of sleep & low immune system bodies.. Big shoutout to B-Boy Static for housing us while we were out there! The trip for sure flew by quick, within a blink of an eye, Jay and I are on our way to Yosemite to be one with the Mother Nature... and now, he's on a jet plane back to Japan.
Everything is everything guys, there was a lot of stories within these few paragraphs, which, you can feel free to ask me.. but I'm just going to post photos to let the entire July speak for itself.
Back to the topic of this post: A New Direction in Life?
I don't think I have ever told anyone this directly, but as cliche as it sounds, I've always want to be in Hollywood and do entertainment related things. End goal? Be on the big screen in movies & TV shows! However, with my past experience in E3 something clicked hard in my head finally. With the past years of my buddy Anele has been telling me to stream, I finally realized this is it! I enjoy traveling, inspiring people, entertaining people, sharing my stories, and here it is... the new IRL section on Twtich.tv.. Since July 7 of 2017, I've been streaming pretty much everyday doing coffee talks, breaking, traveling and more. Usually when I try something new, I would always say "I don't know where this is going... but..." But, I know where this is going because I believe what we are building here on Twitch is truly something beautiful. Since then, we've managed to build a community over 400 people and still steadily growing. My main goal now is to move back to Taiwan at the end of this year and do live stream IRL contents for everybody. So far, January in Korea, March in Japan, and more coming soon. If you guys don't know, now you know.. been MIA-ing from my other social media contents as well as replying people's messages because of this, I fully focused and devoted to this thing because I believe. Currently, I'd stream pretty much whenever I can, and then training comes at night, so the cycle is quite healthy. I've been staying at my parent's house more than my SF location even though I'm still paying $1,200 a month for that spot... (fml) but this is the sacrifices I'm willing to make. It's going to be one hell of a ride, and I am no where near where I want to be, which is why this is one hell of an exciting JOURNEY.
Shoutout to Anele, Ray, Chia, Hassan, Kelly, AttackoftheFro and others for the encouragement to kick this thing off, new people I've met through Twitch community, and friends & family who are still supporting me along the way.
I'll wrap up my jibberish here, since I'm still streaming as we speak, so, cheers!
