So, last night I went to bed with some hardcore runny nose.. I swear I thought this was gonna be the end of my Kyoto chapter. But nope! Woke up around 7am, decided to rest up a little more. So I slept in, got up and enjoyed some brunch.
originally I was really gonna take the L because I truly absolutely hate being out in the rain.. but.. no.. I've decided that the motto of this trip is "Don't stop for nothing."
I had a little "serendipity" moment with an elderly woman and her daughter I assumed watching me filming a Pusa statue. The elderly woman started speaking Japanese to me, and I told them I don't understand politely. But we kept trying to communicate and I think she was trying to ask if I know what this Pusa statue mean. They proceed to show me how the steps of the rituals are... and eventually I learned that... after all the steps and you brush the same areas that you feel pain on the Pusa statue, and pray... I thought this was perfect because of my neck & back injury. So I tried to tell them I'm a bboy, but I didn't have my phone on me so I did a little top rock on the streets, and they both went "ahh!"
Then, without wifi trying to meet up with @Wataru51 wasn't as hard as I expected. We went all around town taking photos, walking, dodging rain and people. we visited the Leica store in Kyoto, and went to the Kiyomizudera Monzenki temple towards the evening. Man! Bummed the main temple is under construction but still got some shots in! Please enjoy some of these photos. Been really inspired lately!
man... seeing this in real life was a trip.
my favorite shot of the day
